How have I not heard of this until now! The new Disney movie for this holiday season is Wreck-It Ralph, the story of a video game bad guy that's fed up with being the "bad guy". This could be the nerdiest movie to date. Ralph is a in a Donkey Kong style game and for over 30 years has been destroying stuff, and he's sick of it. One day he's had enough and decides to leave his game and see what else is out there for him.
This movie reminds me of Who Framed Roger Rabbit? for one specific reason. Disney has managed to get the rights to use real video game characters, from many different companies, throughout the movie. In the trailer you see Ralph in a bad guy support group with, Zangief, M. Bison, Bowser, & a Pac-Man Ghost. You also get cameos from other iconic characters such as Q-Bert. Cooperation like this is something I thought I'd never see again, especially in this day and age. For anyone who has grown up playing arcade games, like me, this game seems like something straight out of your imagination. Starring John C. Riley, Sarah Silverman, Jack McBrayer, & Jane Lynch, this is one one movie I cannot wait to see. Check out the trailer I've posted here, it has a small intro by the movies star John C. Riley, my favorite part (besides Zangief) is the fact that Ralph walks around eating the giant cherries from Pac-Man.
I'm Gonna Need More Quarters,
