How did I miss this! I was just lamenting that the past few days have been pretty slow, in nerd news anyway, then I stumbled upon this hidden gem that I somehow missed. Merle Dixon is back in the upcoming third season of AMC's The Walking Dead. Now for those of you who don't remember Merle, played by the incredible Michael Rooker, is the racist, gun happy, drug dealing older brother of everyone's favorite expert crossbow hunter Daryl. When last we saw him he was handcuffed to a rooftop and left there by the other survivors. When they came back for him all they found was Merle's severed hand and a blood trail leading off the roof. Now it seems that he is still alive and looking pretty ominous. If I were a betting man I'd say he has probably fallen in with the colony run by the season's upcoming villain The Governor. Way to go Walking Dead for making it harder on me to wait until this October. And don't forget to pre-order you're Walking Dead Season 2 on Blu-ray coming out this August. It comes in a collectable zombie bust statue and if you pre-order you'll save $30.00.
