That's right coming in 2013 we will get a Walking Dead video game based on the AMC television series. Now don't confuse this with the current Telltale Games episodic game that comes more from the original comic material (that game is awesome by the way, I just finished episode 2). This upcoming game is being produced by Activision and developed by Terminal Reality. The game will be called Before Hell on Earth and you will follow the adventures of Daryl & Merle Dixon before they meet up with the other survivors in Atlanta. My only qualm with this game is that it's going to be a first-person style of game. When I think about FPS games and zombies, I think about the Left 4 Dead series, which are games that I really enjoy. This seems to be different though, not only will it be one continuous story but also it will be less of a shooter. You will be playing as Daryl and the decisions you make along the way are going to have real ramifications we are being told. You will encounter others along the way and the decisions you make will directly effect their decision to help and/or join your party. Also with supplies very limited and ammo scarce you will have the choice of battling zombies or using stealth to get around them. With all that I still just wish this was going to be a third-person style game. I am interested to see how they are going to build a game around a couple of characters that are portrayed in not that good of a light in the beginning of the TV series. Merle is a loud, obnoxious, gun crazy, racist when we first meet him and though Daryl has come to be a fan favorite he was a pretty harsh character as well at first. I will assuredly be picking this up when it comes out next year and I hope it lives up to all that they are promising us. Also don't forget the 3rd season of AMC's The Walking Dead starts this October.
We ARE the Walking Dead,
Eloy
